This Vision of the Software Engineering Department is to become a preeminent unit within the university offering experiences that prepare software engineering students for leadership, service, and success in life, profession, and society.آ It is our goal to be promoting software engineering research that addresses critical needs of the Information Technology world.

Mission

The Mission of the Software Engineering Department is to educate complete professionals who have an integrated knowledge of the theory and practice of software engineering together with an equally strong understanding of the arts and sciences that will prepare them for fulfilling careers of leadership, service, and life-long learning for the good of society. Our mission can be outlined as follows:

• Provide a rigorous and stimulating education for undergraduate students

• Provide programs of instruction in software engineering that meet internationally accepted standards for professional practice

• Sustain educational programs, enrich modern culture, and improve professional practice

• Create knowledge and expertise that are essential to our increasingly technological society and to maintain our desired quality of life

• Make appropriate contributions in the application of new knowledge to society's problems

• Provide expertise to the industry

• Develop, where appropriate, collaborative programs with other educational institutions
