         <title>ALHOSN @ Dubai GETEX 08</title>
         <description> Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, ALHOSN University participated in the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition “GETEX” which was held at the Dubai International Exhibition Center between from April 2 – 5, 2008.
		 
		 Professor Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor of ALHOSN University welcomed H. E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and expressed his gratitude for the great support given by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on making sure that quality comes first in accrediting the university programs.
 
In addition, several academically accomplished students, represented by the university’s student societies, participated in orienting visitors and potential students about the university offered degrees and programs.

            <title>Software Department Receives a Grant</title>
            <description>The Department of Software Engineering has received a laboratory equipment grant worth of 30,000 AED from the Atmel Corporation. The grant consisted of three kits: ATNGW100 network gateway kit, VK1100 evaluation and development kit, and JTAGICE mkII development tool for on-chip debugging.

“The grant is a collection of kits which makes up the backbone for an advanced embedded systems laboratory.” Dr. Amin Haj-Ali, Chair of the Software Engineering Department commented. 

The grant will be a great asset for both faculty members and students in their research. 

Dr. Haj-Ali expressed his gratitude to Atmel for their support to the software engineering students’ research.
