ALHOSN University is a modern private university, in the city of Abu Dhabi, accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE open to students from all nationalities. ALHOSN University started offering its academic programs in the 2005, and has been gradually expanding in terms of programs and number of students.
Planning for ALHOSN University started in September 2003. Supported by the ABU Dhabi Holding Company, a unique teaching institution in the united Arab Emirates has been created.
ALHOSN undergraduate and graduate programs cover a variety of disciplines that are in great demand at the national, regional and international level. Currently, ALHOSN University has eighteen accredited programs in three faculties: the Faculty of Engineering and applied Sciences, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. ALHOSN University accredited undergraduate degrees are: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Bachelor of Interior Design, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Bachelor of Urban Planning, Bachelor Of Science in Software Engineering, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Management Information System, Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Bachelor of Education (Elementary Education in Teaching English), and Bachelor of Education (Elementary Education in Teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies). ALHOSN accredited graduate programs include: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Education, Diploma in Education, Also Master of Building Engineering, Master of Engineering Management Degree, and Graduate Certificates in Building Engineering, and Engineering Management. ALHOSN will continue to expand its academic offerings through the creation of new and highly-relevant programs.
Most of the programs have been developed through accomplished scholars on the top of their career in several North American prestigious universities. In addition, most of ALHOSN faculty has a wide range of experience in teaching and research from renowned universities across the USA and Canada. ALHOSN first goal is to develop a strong teaching base for its students and extend these efforts towards applicable research for the UAE need.
All undergraduate academic degrees are especially tailored to be four-year programs, including engineering degrees. All teaching is in English except for the Arabic education program which is in Arabic. Therefore, students are expected to have a TOEFL or IELTS score corresponding to their chosen program, otherwise they will need to undergo an English placement test.
The city Campus of ALHOSN includes the Men’s Campus, Women’s Campus, the Engineering Central Labs Building, Library Building in addition to the Lectures Building, all are located in the central location of Abu Dhabi. Further expansion of ALHOSN University includes the construction of its main campus which has state of the art buildings designed according to the best international standards.
